Photo Gallery #14: 2016 Reunion in Charleston, South Carolina - 320th MMS

Our 2016 reunion in Charleston and was a great success with 24 participants. Our hotel accommodations were at the Embassy Suites hotel in North Charleston. This hotel was similar to the one we had in Albuquerque, ties, and the amenities and staff were great. The weather was mostly sunny and warm with temperatures in the mid '70s. Activities included a welcome reception, a walking tour of the historic downtown area, a visit to the Magnolia Plantation, Patriot's Point Naval and Maritime Museum, Fort Sumter, and a visit to Shaw AFB, the current home of the 20th Fighter Wing.

  • The Angel Oak is a Southern live oak on Johns Island near Charleston. Angel Oak is estimated to be 500 years old. The trunk is 28 ft in circumference.

  • St. Michael's Episcopal Church was built was built between 1751 and 1761 and is a National Historic Landmark.
  • The weather was perfect for our walking tour.

  • The First (Scots) Presbyterian Church. The congregation was established in 1731, and the current church was built in 1814.
  • There is history everywhere you look in downtown Charleston. This photo shows a carriage step at the curb in front of one of the historic houses.
  • The Nathaniel Russell House is now a museum.
